Death In Hospital
If the death occurs in hospital the staff will contact the next of kin. The hospital will keep the deceased in the hospital mortuary until arrangements have been made to take the deceased into either the funeral arrangers of the coroner's care.
The doctor will issue the Medical Certificate of Death, and a Formal Notice stating that the Medical Certificate of Death has been signed. The hospital staff usually arrange for the nearest relative to collect the deceased possessions.
Once the Medical Certificate of Death has been issued the funeral director of your choice should be contacted and an appointment to begin the funeral arrangements can be made.
