When Unexpected Death Occurs At Home
If a body has been discovered or if the death was unexpected then the family doctor or paramedic should be contacted. The police should also be called. In the event of an unexpected death occurring then the coroner may become involved.
If an unexpected death occurs and the Coroner becomes involved A.R.Adams is still able to take care of the funeral arrangements, however at the scene of death, the Coroner's team will be called to take the deceased into the care of the Coroner, this is usually to the local hospital.
If you are entrusting A.R.Adams to carry out the funeral arrangements then you are able to contact us and inform us of the death. We will advise you on what to expect and how next to proceed.
Once the deceased has been taken into the coroner's care and the Coroner has completed their investigation they will inform you that the funeral can now take place. They will also inform your nominated funeral director which means arrangements for the date of the funeral can be made.
